Quite simply, the extremely easy to use Aixia PRO series hot wire foam cutters
are the best money can buy.
With the optional computerized TurnPro turntable and Shapeable Wire Tool, the Aixia PRO Series cutters
provide an unbeatable combination. The Pro Series machines are constructed of the best
quality anodized aluminum. Precision milling and finishing ensure that every Aixia Pro
cutter will perform flawlessly for years.
The Aixia Pro series are designed as floor models and do not need to be affixed or secured
to the floor in any way, allowing you to locate the Aixia exactly where you want. The
anodized aluminum frame of the Aixia Pro Series machine is very strong without being
over-designed or over-built.
The Patented Aixia Pro series uses a mobile frame on which the hot wire is mounted. By using a
mobile wire gantry, we avoid the need to move large blocks of foam during the cutting
process. By moving the mobile frame around the stationary block of foam we are able to
achieve a cut quality unseen in other machines. The electronically controlled hot wire is
connected to our own designed wire tensioner to provide constant tension on the wire
through the repeated heating and cooling cycles encountered during a typical day of use.
Ball bearing wheels that travel on a precision aluminum track support this belt driven
gantry. Micro-turbine cooling fans mounted to the wire trolleys cool the heated cutting
wire outside of the foam. By preventing overheating of the portion of the cutting wire
that is outside of the foam block, you are assured of achieving outstanding cut quality
the entire length of the cut.
Heavy-duty micro-stepping motors are used to drive all the Aixia Pro Series machines.
These motors are driven by our Electronic Controller, which provides a means to
electronically control the heating of the hot wire and is able to drive 3 simultaneous
axis' (depending on model purchased). Additionally, the LED readout display and front
panel status lights on the Controller provide user feedback. The manually controlled wire
temperature is electronically regulated to ensure a constant heat which is unaffected by
power fluctuations.
Limit switches (safety switches), which detect the right, left, upper
and lower positions of the wire, are mounted to stop the wire movement
instantly upon activation. A positional overhead bar found only on the
Pro Series (affixed to the extruded frame), allows you to easily
position the material and hold it at any angle in relation to the hot
wire.
Double capacity
All of our 128. Contractor
I & II, 488 and 888 foam cutters include a second
cutting wire as standard feature. The Dual-Cut wire assembly is
adjustable to within 4” of the first wire and can be increased
incrementally every 5/128” (0.3mm) to provide very fine placement and
adjustment of the wire. The Dual-Cut wire can provide many time saving
functions such as trimming the top and bottom of the block
simultaneously, slabbing of a foam billet into sheet stock and doubling
production of molds and trim moldings are only a few examples.

Our Aixia 488
Professional and 888 Professional machines incorporate a very unique
feature and capability not found on competitive machines. Without the
need for additional machinery, jigs, blocks or optional accessories, the
Aixia family of multi-axis computer controlled hot wire foam cutters can
cut tapered shapes and also designs utilizing a different
shape at both ends of the cutting wire.
Foam Cutter Windows Software
Create your design in most standard CAD type programs (such as CorelDraw,
AutoCAD etc).
You can use clipart, logos, scanned & traced images, customer provided artwork, and
any vector (line based) images. Import your design into our AFC
Windows software and you're
ready to cut.
Foam Art V1 Foam Cutting Software
Included with the Professional foam
cutters is the Foam Art V.1 CD. The CD is a
collection of artwork and images designed specifically for foam cutting
operations with the Aixia computerized foam cutting system. Each file is
designed with all required connector lines already placed and ready to
use.
Foam Art from Mad Dog Graphix - Clipart Cutting
Software
The Mad Dog Graphix software is a collection of
750 hand drawn images suitable for foam cutting with the Aixia
computerized foam cutting system. Every design can be scaled larger or
smaller in your design software that supports vector based images
(Such as CorelDraw). This product is included with all computerized
systems!
Work after hours!
All of our Aixia computerized hot wire foam cutters can be programmed
to work after hours when you go home. The work will be done when you
return in the morning!
