AFC Windows software
All of our Aixia machines are driven by our CROMA Windows based software, the job of
file preparation and sequential profile allocation for use with the TurnPro has been
greatly simplified. Convenient pull down menus, file preview, cut simulation and file
management make the CROMA Windows software an essential component of a
complete
Aixia hot wire foam cutting system.
The CROMA software was engineered and written in-house by our own programmers. This level
of involvement ensures that we can respond quickly to new feature implementation and
customer concerns. Our Windows interface is immediately comfortable and familiar to
computer users.
Our software is broken into five modules, each with very distinct functions. This
modularity provides for much better control of your designs, saving not only the actual X
Y movements but also the tie in with material selection, turntable movements, job details
including total cut time (of your file you are cutting), material used, cutting distance, etc. This level of detail
allows you to return to your file several months after it is used and not have to wonder
how things were done. Everything is right there on the screen.
The five modules include: Designer, Cut Manager & Output,
Setup
and Update.
CROMA Designer imports single color HPGL or DXF files and automatically
checks for linking lines between the objects. It is in CROMA Designer where the cutting
process may be previewed and modifications made as necessary. Adding or removing lines is
a simple click away. Designs and objects can be resized proportionally or stretched to fit
in either an X or Y orientation. Additionally specifications can be set up and saved for
the materials used including cutting speed, cost per square inch for cost estimates and
any notes specific to the job.
CROMA Cut Manager is the heart of working with the advanced features of
the CROMA software. Inclusion parameters for specific turntable operations, sequential
filing of profiles to be cut on the turntable, multiple copy selection and job specific
material assignments are configured in CROMA Cut Manager.
CROMA Output is your complete bi-directional interface with the Aixia
cutter. Serial communication ensures that data can be sent to the Aixia and information
such as wire location data can be sent back to the computer screen via the Controller.
CROMA Output facilitates the manual movement of the wire by use of the numeric keypad and
rotation of the turntable. Manual wire movements can either be controlled by hand or the
wire can be moved to a specific location or specific distance.
The Machine Setup page of CROMA Output allows the review of cutting parameters
before the actual cutting is started. For example if a job was designed to be cut in 3
pound EPS, but a sample was to be cut first in 1 pound EPS. By adjusting the cutting speed
immediately prior to sending the job, the cut can be performed at the optimum setting
without having to go back to the design stage to make permanent changes. The buffer level
indicator shows how much data is stored in the buffer memory of the Controller and the
remaining time to cut the job.
The last two modules are very seldom used but we have provided a short explanation.
CROMA Setup is the program to setup the parameters of the particular
Aixia machine being driven (Aixia Pro, Industrial, Standard, with or without TurnPro).
Settings in here need only to be set upon initial installation.
CROMA Update is a firmware update utility for the EEPROM located in the
Controller. The EEPROM chip (a programmable computer chip) contains software (called
firmware) to run the Aixia. CROMA Update is designed to erase the old firmware and send
the new firmware to the EEPROM in the controller.
Whether the three modules are used to their full capability or if a job just needs
to be cut, the CROMA software provides an invaluable segment of design and control
to the Aixia machines.
